In nearby Thousand Island Park, Swami Vivekananda spent 10 weeks in the summer of 1895 and his talks here was published as "The Inspired Talks". It's here where He initiated several people who followed him. The "Vivekananda Cottage" is here and it is said that Swamiji had Samadhi under a tree that is still here in part. It's open in summer during June to August.
